StockTwits.com is currently unreachable due to excessive network traffic that appears to be a DDoS attack. We are currently working to correct the situation.

Everything was restored at around 3:00pm PST today. We mitigated the attack which meant that we had to block some connections which were legitimate as well as the bad traffic. Sorry to those that were effected. We are working on solutions so that this won’t happen again.

What seemed like a network issue has now turned into a DDoS attack. We have been working with our host and opts team to mitigate the attack and will update as we have more information.

Update jan 20 at 11:00 The issue has come back and we are looking into it. A part of the quote server needs to be rebuilt but we are holding off till after hours. Should be intermittent till we can do so.

We have been getting hit with a large DoS attack. The source of this attack appeared to be from multiple addresses, likely a botnet, we will continue to monitor this attack and work to restore the site.

At 7:15am EST this morning we started to see some packet loss within our network which created intermittent website experience. The issue was with load balancer and firewall which we rebooted. The packet loss stopped but the website is still having issue. We are working on the issue with our host.

The issue lasted intermittently for 155 minutes.

We are having issues with pulling in Twitter messages as well as some other minor services.

This is due to a router issue at our hosting facility.
